| The Konde Diocese is located in Tukuyu, Tanzania, Africa.
This is a companion synod for the Lower Susquehanna Synod. Our sister congregation
is the Katumba Lutheran Parish, led by the current pastors Rev.
Immanuel Mwakatobe and Rev. Andende Kisye Kapula. St. John's supports the parish through an annual donation to support their priority needs. We also support one student scholarship annually at Manow School and one diocesan pastor other than our own parish. Rev. Israel-Peter Mwakyolile is the bishop of the Konde Diocese.

Some of the pastors from the diocese have visited in our synod and people
from our synod have gone to Tanzania to visit the Konde, including one member
of our congregation.
The photo to the left is Rev. Mwaipopo. His youngest daughter is named Hannah in honor of the time he spent in the Lower Susquehanna Synod studying at Gettysburg Seminary. The pastor at Gettysburg for 2007 is Pastor Melkezedeck Mbilinyi. Prayer requests: ~ Pray for students at the Manow Lutheran Junior Seminary (a diocesan secondary school) for supplies, computers and scholarship aid.~ Pray for the women who wish to establish a women's credit union. ~ Pray for the Bishop, Pasters, and Evangelists for health and strength. ~ Pray for evangelistic outreach and new believers: Christianity is growing faster than other religions in Tanzania (Islam and traditional African) and many denominations are cooperating. ~ Pray for this inter-denominational international ministry. |
