A study calling on persons to submit themselves to examination by God’s Word, to put themselves under the power of God’s Word, and to be changed by God’s Word.
This Fall, we will be offering THREE Disciple Bible Study Courses:

Disciple I

Disciple II

Disciple IV

Disciple I
Explore and connect the Old and New Testaments and discuss your learning with other lay persons who are hungry for God’s word and willing to commit to daily preparation and a weekly group experience.

Orientation Meeting:  Monday, August 25, 2008 at 6:30pm, receive book and meet teachers

Mondays at 6:30pm -- Classes begin September 8, 2008
This class will meet in classroom 31 of Mount Olivet United Methodist Church, Mechanicsburg
 

Disciple II
This in-depth study of Genesis-Exodus and Luke-Acts will increase the connections between the early patriarchs and Jesus and his apostles, bringing into sharper focus your relationship to our Old Testament roots; deepening your relationship with Christ; and developing a new sense of evangelism.

Orientation Meeting: Sunday, September 7, 2008 at 12:00pm, receive book and meet teachers

Wednesdays at 6:30pm -- Classes begin September 17, 2008
This class will meet in the church parlor of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Shiremanstown

Disciple IV
This final year of the four, explores Wisdom Literature of the Old Testament and the books of John and Revelation in the New Testament. This offering in the series stretches the student even further in understanding the scope of Biblical literature and how our lives are changed by serious encounters with the Word.

Mondays at 6:30pm -- Classes begin September 15, 2008
This class will meet in the church library of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Shiremanstown

 
DISCIPLE aims at transformation, not just information.
DISCIPLE draws on the work of scholars to aid understanding of the Bible.  It encourages personal preparation for group discussion of Scripture based on careful study and preparation.
